PM Modi to visit Rameshwaram on Ram Navami, inaugurate Pamban Bridge

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Rameshwaram on Ram Navami, April 6th. He will offer prayers at the Ramanathaswamy Temple and inaugurate the new Pamban Bridge, India's first vertical sea bridge. The Pamban Bridge connects the mainland to the holy Hindu site. This visit follows the Ram Janmabhoomi Kshetra Trust's announcement of the Ram Navami schedule in Ayodhya.

Opposition leaders gather in Chennai for anti-delimitation meeting

Hindi letters covered with black paint in Tamil Nadu's Pollachi, probe underway

The act was reportedly carried out by former DMK District Secretary Tendril Selvaraj and his associates. Authorities from the Palakkad Railway Division were alerted to the incident, following which the signboard was promptly repainted, restoring the Hindi lettering. In a similar act at Palayamkottai Railway Station, DMK cadres, holding party flags, disfigured the Hindi script and inscribed 'Tamil Vaazhga' (Long Live Tamil) on the signboard. Later, Palakkad Railway Division repainted the affected signboards, restoring the Hindi lettering. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and DMK supporters have been vocal in their opposition to the three-language policy, protesting the perceived imposition of Hindi in the Southern state.
