Woman killed, children injured in stampede in Cuttack's Makar Sankranti Mela

A woman died and several others, including children, were critically injured in a stampede on the Badamba-Gopinathpur T-bridge in Odisha's Cuttack on Saturday. Lakhs of pilgrims had gathered at the Singhanath temple to celebrate Makar Sankranti. Following the incident, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the family members of the deceased.
