Deepika Padukone

Known for her iconic roles in Padmaavat and Bajirao Mastani, Deepika Padukone is a leading Indian actress and producer. Born in Copenhagen, Denmark and brought up in Bengaluru, she is the daughter of badminton player Prakash Padukone and Ujjala Padukone.

Born on January 5, 1986, Deepika was a national-level badminton player until she gave up the sport at the age of 16 to pursue her acting career. Her first Bollywood movie Om Shanti Om opposite Shah Rukh Khan released in 2007. She has acted in over 30 feature films across genres including films like Piku and Chhapaak. Deepika became an internationally acclaimed actress with her Hollywood action film XXX: Return of Xander Cage (2017).

One of the highest-paid actresses of Bollywood, she has won several accolades including three Filmfare Awards and was also named as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by TIME magazine.

In 2014, Padukone was diagnosed with clinical depression and had to seek professional help. In 2015, she founded the 'Live Love Laugh Foundation' to give hope to those suffering from anxiety and depression and is also vocal about mental health issues.

She tied the knot with Indian actor Ranveer Singh in 2018. Her official Twitter handle is @deepikapadukone and the name of her official Facebook page is Deepika Padukone. She is also active on Instagram, under the username deepikapadukone.
